Grab your conch shells, rattles, and whistles, excitement for the major cricket events taking place in the paradise of the twin islands of Antigua and Barbuda this summer is mounting.

In their latest innovative marketing campaign, “Be Part,” the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority is wooing cricket fans and inviting them to immerse themselves in the game atmosphere in Antigua and Barbuda.

Colin C. James, CEO of the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, states: “Our ‘Be Part’ campaign is about being present in the moment, allowing the senses to awaken to the variety of experiences Antigua and Barbuda can offer. From exploring our heritage and vibrant culture to getting swept up in the excitement of sailing and yachting, finding solace in our wellness havens, or experiencing romance in our intimate settings, the campaign invites visitors to be present and embrace every aspect of our unique destination.”

“You have to be here,” exclaims the renowned batsman Sir Richie Richardson, West Indies cricket legend and one of the country’s cricket knights, during the “Be Part” campaign video, where he extends a warm invitation to everyone to experience cricket action, soak in the “cricket carnival” atmosphere for which Antigua and Barbuda is famous, and “be part of the game” in their homeland.

Antigua and Barbuda astronaut Keisha Schahaff, the first person in the world to go to space with her daughter, also makes an appearance in the video playing with elements from the ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup “Out of this World” campaign. The ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup will arrive in Antigua next June.

In the video, a cricket ball is seen in space, then making a spectacular appearance on a stunning beach in Antigua, much to the delight of the youngsters. From Shirley Heights to Nelson’s Dockyard, passing by a picturesque fruit stand, a bustling restaurant, a tranquil spa, and beyond, with the sound of the conch shell as a calling card, the cricket ball’s journey sparks excitement and anticipation among all the people it encounters, setting the stage for an unforgettable cricket experience.

The campaign will be launched in Antigua and Barbuda’s key source markets, targeting potential travelers interested in cricket. It will appear in digital, print, social media, and radio advertising for the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority.

The ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup is not the only prestigious cricket tournament coming to Antigua and Barbuda this year. The FairBreak T2O Challenge will celebrate women’s cricket in July. Following that, from August 28 to October 6, the 2024 Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL24) will take place throughout the Caribbean, with key matches in Antigua, the birthplace of “party cricket.” In November, the England men’s cricket team will tour the West Indies again to play a series of white-ball matches, with fixtures and matches in Antigua and the Caribbean.
