Successful first participation of Turks & Caicos at IBTM Americas

Through its diverse offerings that combine leisure, vibrant beaches, and an increasingly established corporate sector, the Caribbean nation achieved a promising debut at one of the most relevant MICE Tourism events.
For the first time, Turks & Caicos (TCI) took part in the prestigious IBTM Americas, the leading MICE Tourism trade show, held on August 20–21 in Mexico City.
For the Caribbean archipelago, participating in this gathering—which brings together the most relevant hosted buyers, companies, and event decision-makers—marked an auspicious starting point.
“We are leaving Mexico with very positive impressions. We noticed a strong appetite from major MICE players for our destination, and that is truly encouraging,” said the representatives of the islands. They noted that attendees see great potential in TCI, highlighting it as a relatively unexplored destination with much to offer and an ideal setting for MICE.
During the two days of activity, the representatives of the islands held more than 20 meetings and had important appointments with business leaders from Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, Brazil, Peru, and Mexico.
An emerging destination
Undoubtedly, Turks & Caicos’ broad and diverse offerings allow it to grow not only in the MICE segment but also across all areas of tourism. Its unmatched beaches, pleasant climate, and impeccable hospitality provide the perfect setting to host a business event or simply enjoy a relaxing getaway. It is worth noting that Providenciales—one of its most famous islands—was awarded Best Caribbean Destination for Incentive Travel at the 2024 World MICE Awards. For this year’s edition, 11 hotels are nominated in the categories of Best MICE Hotel and Best Incentive Hotel, respectively.
